Mids and Toms

Per usual Indiana weather, today was pretty chilly. I am so attached to wearing Spring clothes though! I paired this super comfy and cute midi dress with an oversized knit sweater to cover up for the windy day. I love this dress and it's been a nice staple for me far before the midi length was as popular as it is now.

First of all, can I get a hallelujah for longer lengths becoming popular! Don't get me wrong I like mini skirts and dresses as much as the next gal, but it is so refreshing to have it be stylish to wear something other than that. The midi length is so classy and appropriate for all different occasions.

Second of all, I love Toms! Their canvas shoes are adorable and it's always nice to know your purchase goes toward such a great cause. I saw Blake Mycoskie speak at Purdue once and his story was so inspiring. He's only 37 and look at all he's done and what he's created. I think the fashion industry is aiming at a much higher purpose these days and that is fantastic!

IMAmazed

Sunday might be my favorite day of the week. This past Sunday we had an absolute blast! Aaron and I have a habit of brunch and fun relaxing Sunday activities when we're both free for the weekend. I love that there is no pressure on a Sunday. You could lay around and watch Netflix and it's a success or you can go to brunch, a movie, museum, bowling...etc and again a major success!

This Sunday we opted for a great lunch at Flatwater in Broad Ripple and visiting the IMA (Indianapolis Museum of Art). Oh and we took Penny to the local park and relished in her innocent joy of roaming the grassy knolls!

Flatwater is a fantastic little restaurant right on the canal. It is perfect for a beautiful warm day, but hard to get a seat. We basked in the sun and savored our local brews. The absolute must have item at this restaurant is the tuna tartar appetizer. It is spicy, fresh, cooling, and delicious. All of that siracha sushi grade tuna is served with these crispy wonton chips. Yum! We literally scarfed it down so fast I forgot to snap a pic!

We really wanted to go to a museum this weekend, so we decided on the IMA because it's so close and here's the kicker...it's free!

We waltzed in and checked out their latest exhibit, a Bonsai tree exhibit. It was actually pretty interesting and we got to vote on our favorite tree.

This one was my favorite! Look at the roots, how cool is that?

They had this really neat installation in the entrance, you could walk inside it too. Most of these pics don't do all the beauty we saw today justice, but it's worth seeing.

We didn't make it too far into the gardens, because it started getting too hot, but they had a cute little garden sale and food trucks. It definitely looked hopping and I'd love to check it out next time.

PINspired: Jumpsuit Madness!

With the pinspiration flowing this week I decided to go with one of the biggest spring trends this season...the jumpsuit! I found the jumpsuit I am wearing randomly in the active department at Nordstrom! It was one of those 'aw shoot and I said I wouldn't buy anything' moments. Couldn't leave without it, so I didn't. I would love to find a jumpsuit/romper that's a little more formal looking, since in the words of Aaron "it looks like your wearing pajamas", but this one is perfect for a lazy spring Saturday.

Brights and Prints

In light of this beautiful day I felt the need to rock the neon pants! I bought these randomly at Forever 21 and loved the bright color, fabric, and cropped style. My leopard print slip-on sneakers from C Wonder inspired the mix of bright with patterns. The shirt is super old, but since printed tees are in style now it seemed fitting to bring the black of the shoes up top. Lastly the leopard shoes I just purchased had to be outfitted! I love the fun pattern and the comfortability! If you're liking what you see feel free to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Bloglovin, or Twitter!

Mixing Prints

Today was yet another beautiful day! It started out rainy, but the rain brought in the most beautiful blue sky and a light breeze that merited my floral track jacket. I love this time of spring when you can bring out the much missed bright colors and fun patterns, but you can still layer and have fun with different pieces. This jacket is so fun and comfy, it adds a light cover for a breezy day, but it also adds color and pattern to a more neutral outfit. I love also wearing it with a white summer dress for a mix of dainty and sporty! I got the jacket at Nordstrom on sale last year and unfortunately can't find it, but I attached links to similar jackets for you all!

I may be slightly obsessed with my new leopard slip on sneakers from C Wonder and I am sure they will make their appearance on the blog many many times! I loved the idea of the leopard mixed with the floral. It's a pattern mix-match made in heaven!

I spent my day spring cleaning and blogging. I made a quick trip to the gym and tried my hand at the leg machines. Ouch! I'm trying to make more of any effort, but we shall see how that lasts. I'm a habitual "I'll start Monday" excuse maker when it comes to working out.

I hope you like this outfit and the beautiful Indy scenery. Don't forget to follow us on any of our social media sites via the buttons at the top right. Liking what you see? Comment below and let us know if you'd like to see more!

Stripes, Braids, and Cargo

I saw this post on one of the fashion blogs I follow, More Pieces of Me. I already had the striped dress from a boutique in Indy, but I needed the vest and as you all know from earlier posts I found it on 70% off sale at American Eagle! Major steal!

I had to make do with selfies today, because Aaron is a busy bee studying! I love the mix of cargo with the body con stripe. Much thanks to CaryLee for the inspiration.
