Simple comfort

Here's a super simple look that I wore for Thanksgiving. I love this vest because it adds the perfect amount of warmth and style, plus pairing it with a hot pink sweater adds a great pop of color!

I had to wear my Hue jeggings, because after all I am eating a lot on Thanksgiving, so these are essentially my fat pants. Lastly a light Vera Bradley scarf too add a bit of pattern.

Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving holiday!

The Geometry of Style

Well, anyone who knows me would laugh at me even mentioning math! I am so awful at math, but I can rock a geometric shape pattern like a champ! haha and so modest :)

I love this funky pattern and the fact that it is neutral makes it really easy to wear for many different occasions. Who knows, it might show up for a holiday look! This super cute Forever 21 dress is a great way to throw in an interesting element to a simple outfit. It has short cap sleeves, so since it's not warm out I paired it with a simple chambray blouse. I love using a cover up to add a little more style to the look.

I get to venture up to the old Alma Mater this weekend! Yay! Hopefully we will get that bucket, but in the end I just hope for a great game and a good time with my family!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I know I will!

Let's Polka!

There are few patterns I love more than Polka Dots! It's a great way to channel your inner child and stay in fashion. I like to wear sweaters over a collar. It's a classy look and can be dressed up or down. Plus, in these temps it's nice to have an extra layer! Layering is a great way to mix and match your wardrobe, you can change a seemingly similar outfit into a totally different look!

How do you mix it up?

Ruffle my feathers!

Any Indiana or really, considering this year, any blogger will attest that taking pictures of cute outfits in the falling temperatures is not super easy. I try to figure out what angles work best, so I can only spend a minute or two outside! Granted, this adorable sweater didn't deserve to be covered up by a coat! I got this, again, yes again at The Toggery!

I love the detail of the ruffles and the fun sleeves. This was only $12 and it's BCBG! I hope to eventually make an installment of thrift inspiration! It's possible to find a super cute look on a budget. I am becoming a fast expert on this fact!

How do you save AND shop!?

Cruella du jour

You will find a few of my thrifted items this week! This amazing fur coat being one of them. I snagged this baby for $17! Such a great deal. This is definitely not an everyday coat, but perfect when your outfit needs that extra bit of drama. It will also be great for a fancy affair. I paired it with a simple pair of jeans and black blouse. I really wanted to highlight the coat.

What's your favorite way to dress up in the super chilly temps?

Color me sepia!

Today's look is a combination of vintage style and actual vintage! The hat is vintage inspired, the sweater is a vintage sweater from Adorn boutique, and the jeans are a great pair of Paige jeans I snagged at the Toggery for only $28!! What a steal!

I love finding great items at resale boutiques. A lot of times, myself included, I give up great gently used items because they simply don't fit. Yes, you may have to pass by a few atrocities, but it will be worth it in the end!

How do you thrift?

Pink gams

Is she ill? Nope, she's just wearing pink tights...

I love fun tights, it's something I truly hope to invest in and build my repertoire! Color tights are kind of difficult to style, but it's worth the effort! It really adds to the outfit and is a fun way to stay warm in the dropping temps. I paired this with a simple black dress, but true to form I brought the color back up top with a fun pink plaid square scarf. Square scarves (in my opinion) make the best shape when classically wrapped around your neck. Panel scarves are great for different fun styles, but the square scarf is a trusty old friend that never does you wrong! I love this look, because it is super comfortable, but not drab.

How do you add some flare to your look?
