Pattern and lace

It's no secret that I have been slacking on my blog! I will try my best to be posting every day. I hope you all have been liking it so far and I want to start doing some fun series. Suggestions welcome!

Today I was at a loss as to what to wear. It was a high of 92 today, but I had to cover the bruises from tubing this weekend. I opted for this lace overlay top because the sleeves are very flowy and allowed me to stay cool! I love this patterned skirt! This was an Old Navy purchase circa 2006! Oldie but a goodie I suppose! Hope you have a fantastic week and thanks for following!

Jail bird

Sometimes color just isn't on the menu. I wanted a simply comfortable look and that's what I got. I love color and bright fun pieces, but adversely I love monochromatic looks too. It can seem even more difficult sometimes to rock a black and white look. This striped jacket always feels like a prison look to me, but hey who knows. The prison look may be in, in light of Orange is the New Black!

Happy Monday!

Dots and tribal

I got to mix some really random prints today! These polka dot harem pants are super comfy and on point with the "mc hammer" reboot. I bought them quite some time ago at Nordstrom rack and have just now gotten around to wearing them. I paired them with a simple tank and a tribals scarf. The scarf acted, today, as an accessory, color coordinator, and a cover for the pen mark I permanently made on the tank.

Have a great Friday! *TGIF*

Look out Kelly Kapowski

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Fashion ebbs and flows. That being said, the 80's are back...pause for reaction...
Yay! (that's my reaction)

Well, that might just be me, but I absolutely love when old trends come back. It's fun to channel a different time and reinvent a style from a past era. Today's look is eerily similar to one or a hundred episodes of Saved by the Bell. White washed denim is 80's enough, but paired with denim jeans. Hello!! Gotta love some denim on denim. What's your favorite "old" trend?

Half and Half

I saw on a fashion blog recently the half up half down top knot. Found the look here. Needless to say, I am in love. I absolutely love top knots, but after a long haul to grow my hair it's nice to wear it down. Now, I have the best of both worlds! Yay!

It's Wednesday, so happy hump day. I still think it's so weird to say that, but what the heck have a good one anyway. I needed a simple comfortable outfit after a very long, very stressful day. When I think comfort, I think jeans and a flowy tank. That combo can be extremely boring, so my go to accessory is a scarf. I have never cared much about seasonal wear, I try to incorporate a lot of pieces for all seasons, scarves are one of them. They make very lightweight scarves for summer, so I opt for those!

Hope you like it

Slouchtastic

Sometimes a girl just needs a fully slouchy outfit. Having absolutely nothing tight, low-cut, or revealing in any way. This outfit does just that.

I am a huge fan of the boyfriend fit, they are trendy and comfy. In the world of fashion, I believe that's a win. The jeans combined with this super comfy tank and low wedges makes for an incredibly easy look for Sunday lunch. I hope you all have a great week, many more looks to come!

p.s.
I have been playing with the idea of a vintage series. Thoughts?

Vintage Love!

I get sent over to the boutique building at work and this is what happens. I bought this amazing jumpsuit at Adorn Boutique in Broad Ripple. It's so unique and beautiful and for only $22 you really can't ask for much more.

I love vintage clothes for so many reasons; the trendiness, variety, price, and most of all the knowledge that someone lived their lives in these clothes. I imagine a petite (hence the length of the pants) woman finding this jumpsuit and buying it for a fancy affair. She wore pointy toed kitten heels and a lovely coat with giant shoulder pads.

Do you ever imagine what life was led in your vintage pieces?

Have a great day, you never know what it will mean.
