Tribal & Camo

Just wanted to do a quick post today! I've got a big weekend planned so more pics will be coming soon. It's Aaron and I's anniversary and my Dad's birthday, so cookout today and festivities all weekend. I look forward to all the cute outfits I get to wear :)

I opted for a cute casual look today with the tribal print on top and camo pants. Have a great day!

Fashion Staple: Screen Tee

For the next installment of the Fashion Staple series, I chose the screen tee! This one happens to also be a perfect pick for an Indy centric blog. It's only $28 at Nordstrom! As the shirt suggests "I'm IN love". I wanted to show how versatile the screen tee can be. I love that comfy items are becoming trendy and can be used so many different ways. It was hard for me to even narrow down the options.

What's your favorite way to don the screen tee? This is also a great way to show how easy pieces can go from day to night!

Don't forget to stay up on all the fashion fun on one of the social media links on the right. Stay classy Indiana ;)

Tribal Statement Necklace

Ah Memorial day! It may be a day off from work and a national cookout day, but may we all take a moment and thank all of the amazing men and women defending our country and all of those who have served for America. It should be more often that we thank these people, but it is nice that we make time to really celebrate the brave men and women who continue to fight for our freedom and for the love of this country.

Aaron and I relished in this beautiful/hot day at Chumley's with a large beer and some good conversation. It was nice to spend some quality time and apparently everyone else felt the same! Such a great day!

I opted for the light pair of jeans paired with a flowy accordion top and a statement necklace. I love this necklace and it was a random find at Nordstrom while I worked there! (Stop counting in your head how often I say that ;)

This simple, but chic outfit combined with such a fantastic day has set off this unofficial start to summer just right! Hope you all enjoyed not only the weather, but the great weekend sales!

Kelly green and Leopard sneaks

My boyfriend jeans and leopard slip-ons are getting their use this season. I love how comfortable they are and I can switch up the entire look with different tops and accessories!

This kelly green top is super old from Gap, but it's such a classic look. I love the crochet for spring as a great transitional look. The hat was a random pick at a cute little shop in Lake Tahoe, ugh bring me back! It's a different take on the fedora and i love the flower! Keep an eye out for it on the blog again!

I Love Nerds!

I can't get enough of these beautiful days! Indiana weather can be brutal, but it can bear the most incredible spring and fall days.

Today, I opted for a pattern mix with a fun print and screen tee. I have had this top since high school and I still love it so much. The patterned skirt is a great Savvy find from last year. I love the pairing because it is fun, different, and screams Spring!

The cherry on top of this outfit are my chucks! I am totally a comfort girl. Most of the fashion bloggers I follow wear heels every day and when I started this blog I really wanted to be that girl, but alas, I love flats and they can still be very fashionable. I opted for the chucks for an overall nerdy chic look!

What's your favorite screen tee look? It's so versatile, check out the blog on Thursday to see different looks with a screen tee!

Aaron is making more of an appearance on the blog. I sure do love my nerd!

Maxi Cardigan

Yet another romper has graced my closet! I found this at American Eagle for only $30! I love it with this maxi cardigan from Forever 21. The crochet makes it accessible in the rising temps. This was such a fun outfit and so comfy.

Where's your favorite romper this season? I'm obviously up for suggestions! Have a great weekend, it should be beautiful!

30 Day Photo Challenge

I'm super excited to take this 30 day photo challenge! I won't be posting them every single day, but sporadically with my normal outfit posts.

I am so excited to step out of the box and see all the pictures together in the end. I think it is so important to find fun and different ways to challenge yourself. As busy as we all are it is so easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget to appreciate the beautiful things in our lives. I invite anyone to join me in this challenge and feel free to tag your photo's on Instagram @indystyleblog!

I will kick off Day 1 with a photo of myself! Here goes nothing!

Fashion Staples: Boyfriend Jeans

As I stated before I really wanted to make a series on fashion staples! The first staple I decided to choose are the ever adorable boyfriend jeans! I love the comfortability and fashionable elements make it a perfect piece for many seasons. I chose to make four really different and super fun outfits with the same pair of jeans. These are from H&M, so naturally super cheap!

What's your favorite fashion staple? Keep checking the blog for some looks with different staples. I'm thinking Blazer might be next.

Also, don't forget to follow us on bloglovin, twitter, facebook, or instagram!

Portland bound...

My best friend Mia was in town for 5 days and sadly must return to Portland!! We got to spend the day yesterday at the mall and then drinking in Broad Ripple. Mia got this super cute dress at Gap! We decided to meet the guys in Broad Ripple and walk the Monon to get there. It was such a beautiful day, how could we pass that opportunity up!

We ended up spending the evening hopping from one bar to the next! We had a few beers at Chumley's and then got some delicious appetizers at Flatwater! I can't resist the tuna tar tar and we tried the calamari! Yum! The best part of Flatwater is the beautiful patio view; there was a 45 minute wait on a Monday, indication of just how crazy awesome this patio is.

She paired the dress with her Lucky Brand low heeled sandals. So cute! I want them now and found them on DSW for under $50!

The Monon has so many random scenes and vintage items all around. I love seeing something new and different every time.

Mia and Zack are goofs!

Just one view from our table at Flatwater, doesn't do it justice!

Aaron trying to be gangster, I suppose...

Get Mia's look:

All in all, this was such an amazing visit! Life just isn't as awesome without Mia in Indy! I'll be visiting Portland soon enough and will definitely post all about the fashion and fun on the west coast!

Wedding Weekend!

Wedding Outfit

This weekend was such a wonderful time of friends, love, and marriage! We all ventured up to Schererville, IN to celebrate the wedding of Chris and Katie Gerber. It was a beautiful wedding, with emerald green and coral accents.

Katie looked so beautiful in a strapless white organza gown and Chris was very handsome in his dress whites for the Navy! All in all it was such a great time and so good to see all of our college friends!

Finding a wedding going outfit is sooo difficult! First of all, be aware of the couple and the dress code. Second of all, be sure to air to the side of over appropriate! Hoochie's beware; this is not the time to wear your hot, fun, club going dress. Also, never wear white. This is a simple one, but it is harder than you think when you're looking. I ran across so many dresses that had a lot of white and had to nix them from my options!

Finally, I opted for a super cute maxi from H&M that had a high neckline and a small slit to add a little flare! I loved the fun print and color, while being very appropriate and comfortable.

These are just a few random pictures from the night! Have a great week!

(This is not the groom...lol)
