Farm girl chic

I wouldn't refer to myself as a farm girl, simply because I do not have that work ethic, and I don't like to get dirty. I have mad respect for girls that can claim that title, so to channel their spirits, I tried to emulate a farm gal in today's look. Granted, I probably couldn't achieve any status as a farm hand, but it's super cute, so from a blogger's POV, I'm happy. I love this ruffle slip from Forever 21, it's so versatile and completely changes a look! Paired with my trusty Frye cowbow boots, a plaid button up, and you can't forget a jean jacket this look fits the bill, buffalo bill that is ;) Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Ruffle my feathers!

Any Indiana or really, considering this year, any blogger will attest that taking pictures of cute outfits in the falling temperatures is not super easy. I try to figure out what angles work best, so I can only spend a minute or two outside! Granted, this adorable sweater didn't deserve to be covered up by a coat! I got this, again, yes again at The Toggery!

I love the detail of the ruffles and the fun sleeves. This was only $12 and it's BCBG! I hope to eventually make an installment of thrift inspiration! It's possible to find a super cute look on a budget. I am becoming a fast expert on this fact!

Ruffles for days...

I love this ivory petticoat clip I got from Forever 21. It is a great way to, quite literally, add some flare to an outfit! It also adds a bit of drama, which anyone who know me will attest to my love of drama. I also adore a monochromatic color palatte, because it opens up your mind to textures and details that color can often guide you to ignore. The slip is kind of difficult to pair, but I really like it with this crop top, so it doesn't cover up the ruffles, because..why cover up ruffles? You have to top...well I suppose bottom off any good outfit with a good pair of shoes. These adorable black booties are an essential for so many outfits and especially this one. The black elongates the leg while adding the slightest amount of heel, because post Purdue my heel height tolerance went waayyy down (literally).

Free my soul

I'm very thankful to have a stylish mother raise me and let me play around with my style. This shirt is a free people shirt circa 2006! I have a select few items that still make their debut after all of these years. I  became accostomed to personal style very young and although I definitely had a "trendy" phase I mostly stuck to my guns and stepped out of the 'hollister' box and that gave me a lot of cool pieces I can still wear today (well the one's that still fit). Pattern and lace

It's no secret that I have been slacking on my blog! I will try my best to be posting every day. I hope you all have been liking it so far and I want to start doing some fun series. Suggestions welcome!

Today I was at a loss as to what to wear. It was a high of 92 today, but I had to cover the bruises from tubing this weekend. I opted for this lace overlay top because the sleeves are very flowy and allowed me to stay cool! I love this patterned skirt! This was an Old Navy purchase circa 2006! Oldie but a goodie I suppose! Little Dancer

With my ruffled top under a gold shimmery peplum tee I felt inspired by Degas! This pose is one of many he emphasized in his work. Granted, this pose was totally by accident, but I feel like it works! I love this little ruffled tank as a layering piece. it's a nice simple piece that adds, quite literally, some flare. Hippie Chic

Due to my recent closet overhaul, I came across a favorite statement piece of mine! I love this vintage headscarf; it’s so fun and such an uncommon accessory. I bought this at Broad Ripple Vintage last year along with some vintage high-waisted shorts! Vintage shopping is the way to go for these fun and unique items. I happen to live in the Mecca of vintage style and there are so many great shops around me, which is great considering I love rummaging through random items and walking away with a fun distinctive statement piece.

The slip style tunic is from Forever 21. I figured there would be a ton of different ways to style it, so naturally I was intrigued. I’m slowly finding more ways to use it, any and all suggestions are welcome!

Hippie style can be interpreted in so many ways, this is just one fun idea, but there are lots of different types of “hippie” inspirations. What’s your favorite decade or genre look?
