Lavender + Patterns = Spring Chic

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm so excited for this upcoming weekend and following couple of weekends. In my future (in order) is my brother's 30th bday, farm trip, Mia and Zack coming to town, Claire's wedding, a trip to Purdue, my dad's birthday, and Aaron and I's anniversary! Whew, it's going to be a jam packed few weeks, but fun filled for sure! I went for a Spring chic look today with pastels and patterns. I like how the pastels "go" with the color scheme on the skirt pattern. This look paired perfectly with my gold Betsey Johnson sandals, because a pop of metallic never heart anyone!

Holiday Series Recap

With all of the holidays seemingly far behind us, I figured it would be nice to compile all of the looks from my Holiday Look Series for you all! I had such fantastic holiday season and I hope you did too. This year was filled with love, family, friends, drinks, and of course delicious food! All of these looks (minus the reindeer dress) can be worn throughout the year, but I tried to tie in reds, greens, and golds (oo and leather for NYE!) to fit within the holiday theme.

Hope everyone's 2015 is off to a great start!

TGIF

Having Friday's off to work on my blog is sooo nice! Needless to say, I am having trouble finding motivation today, negative temps will do that to a fashion blogger! Today's look is super simple with just the right amount of fun pieces. I like to pair simple looks with pops of pattern, texture, color, or jewels. I love these adorable leopard mini heels I got for Christmas, they are a great way to add a funky element to an otherwise simple look. I opted for a chunky-ish gold necklace to bring that extra bit of eye candy up top.

Off to freeze my behind off! Have a great TGIF

Ready, Set, Holiday!

Since the holidays are upon us I have decided to post a holiday party look each week. The great thing about a holiday party is it's typically the one time your co-workers get to see you all dolled up, add some spiked egg-nog and you are golden. Here is one look for a holiday party. I paired an LBD with leather paneling along with a gold flake cropped cardigan. When dressing for a party it's always great to have a focused piece, with this outfit it is the gold jacket. The great thing about gold and silver is that it screams holiday without being cheezy!

I love black and gold, really you can't go wrong with neutrals, but I think at a holiday party you have some leway to use pops of color! In this look I used my pink pumps to amp up the look and add some fun color!

What are you going to wear for your holiday party?

Cabernet Blouse and Statement Jewelry

You have to love fall for it's layering capabilities! This adorable top from Le Tote is perfect for just that. I love the midi sleeve, it's such a chic departure from the cap sleeve and three-quarter. This outfit is undoubtedly cute and comfy, but it was missing something. That something almost always a good piece of jewelry! This lust worthy necklace is an amazing find at Adorn boutique in Broad Ripple. The kicker is that it was only $16! Nothing better than a stylish deal.

Midi's, flares, gold, oh my!

One might read that headline and think this is a vintage post, but in fact it is a very modern look, with a super amazing top from, yet again, Le Tote! I love the midi sleeve due to it's stylish yet conservative style and pairing it with a classic flare jean just seems like a marriage made in 60's heaven. I am sure my mother will love to hear that I love gold jewelry. I swore up and down, in my teen years, that gold was out. Beyond out. Never coming back. It is safe to say that it is unwise to swear off any style, because before you know it that trend will find it's way in to your closet. Gold jewelry is officially trendy and my personal preference, so I officially apologize for my naive and premature kibosh on it's value to the stylish people of the world.

Simply Hipster

Ended up wearing this monochromatic number to the Brew Fest. I wanted to be comfy and I didn't want to get my dress dirty. I love this new headband I purchased at A Do. It's a perfect little accessory for a simple outfit. The Brew Fest was beyond fun! There were so many people, it was like a small city of beer enthusiasts. I will definitely go again next year! There were rows and rows of breweries cheerfully handing out their favorite ales. A couple food trucks kept the hungry masses fed with pizza, tacos, and hot dogs. A drinking fool's heaven.

We headed to Union Jacks following and indulged in some chips and queso. I couldn't stomach one more pint of beer, so I opted for wine instead. All in all, it was such a fantastic evening filled with fun and friends.

Little Dancer

With my ruffled top under a gold shimmery peplum tee I felt inspired by Degas! This pose is one of many he emphasized in his work. Granted, this pose was totally by accident, but I feel like it works! I love this little ruffled tank as a layering piece. it's a nice simple piece that adds, quite literally, some flare. Have a great day and enjoy this beeaauutiful weather!
