Pinspired: All over black

Today's PINspired look is this super chic all black look. I love the way she utilized some leather to really make the look pop! I opted to bring my statement jewelry to my ears, featuring my LeTote lovelies. I am a huge fan of monochromatic looks, I think they work so well for a ton of different events and occasions. I try to bring in some sort of texture or tone to break it up a bit, such as my fun earrings. I am in love with her quilted version of the skirt, but c'est la vie, this is pINSPIRATION, not magical Pinterest closet! Which, why hasn't anyone come up with that yet?

Ho.ho.ho

As promised I've come up with another Holiday Party look! Sometimes the party starts right after work, thus you can't get too dolled up, since most will be in their work clothes. Hopefully you all saw my look from yesterday, which is actually the exact same outfit! All I did was take off the button-up and throw on a festive green blazer. I've got all the holiday colors covered and still appropriate for a work function. It takes a few moments of planning, but you can still wow at your holiday party when coming straight from work!

What are you wearing for your holiday party?

Work and Play

Today's look is to show that it is super easy to be dressed professionally with a little flare! I don't like the idea that dressing for work has to be slacks and a button up. Don't get me wrong I often slide into the rut of wearing just that, but every now and then I like to jazz it up.

I paired a simple dress from Target with a neutral button up and a pop of statement jewelry! All of this topped off with some fierce red lips and I'm ready to rock this Monday like it's Friday!

How do you add style to your work look?

ps. Check out the blog tomorrow for a Holiday party look if you have to go straight after work!

Change is in the air!

As you have probably noticed I have not only changed the name, but the whole look of the blog! A redesign was essential. When I began this blog, I kind of figured it wouldn't last and I'd move on, but I have come to find that it is something I truly love to do and no matter how many views I get I will continue to indulge in my two favorite things. Fashion and writing. Thank you all for viewing my blog, it is still and might always be a work in progress!

Thanks,

Abby

I recently overheard a stylist at work explain how to get beachy waves with a curling iron...I'm officially hooked! I love that since they are relaxed curls I can keep a longer look with the volume of a little curl. I'm sure we've all heard this style of curling, but the way she explained it made me think I could do it. I think I achieved success!

I am mixing up my previous outfit pieces in a different way for a more casual look. I like taking an outfit and using the inspiration to create a new look for different venue. Do you like to style swap?

Cabernet Blouse and Statement Jewelry

You have to love fall for it's layering capabilities! This adorable top from Le Tote is perfect for just that. I love the midi sleeve, it's such a chic departure from the cap sleeve and three-quarter. This outfit is undoubtedly cute and comfy, but it was missing something. That something almost always a good piece of jewelry! This lust worthy necklace is an amazing find at Adorn boutique in Broad Ripple. The kicker is that it was only $16! Nothing better than a stylish deal.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am an old school film buff! One fantastic staple in fashion is the lbd (little black dress) and the second is Audrey Hepburn. No one can truly encompass her beauty and grace, but one can try to emulate her impeccable style. She is the queen of simplicity and the lbd. I love this dress from Nordstrom, because it is flattering, simple, and versatile. I also love long sleeves! I had to spice it up with a good statement piece of jewelry, naturally. Who's your fashion icon?

Monochromatic love

This weekend has been so beautiful and perfect for some fun with good friends. I had such an amazing time with my best friends getting sushi and going out for a great night in Broad Ripple. I love spring in Indiana, because you never know what the weather will be like from one day to the next. It's great for my closet! I don't have to stow away all of my jackets and jeans just yet, but I can indulge in some fun spring items as well.

We had a cookout yesterday and got to hang out with Michael and Krista! They left us last year for Michael's first year of residency in Michigan, but they are finally back! We got to catch up over delicious burgers from Fresh Market, fresh Indiana corn, and yummy fruit! We also got to play our favorite game, if you've never played cards against humanity, you are missing out! It's a favorite of ours and a great choice for a good laugh.

I had to add a pic of the "Donut talk to me" shirt I got to wear in honor of National Donut day on Friday! Anyone get a free donut? My sweet indulgence was the shirt in lieu of the sweet treat.

It wasn't extremely hot out, so I got to wear some cropped pants and a tank, hence the mix and match of seasons. Hope you had an equally delightful weekend!

Tribal Statement Necklace

Ah Memorial day! It may be a day off from work and a national cookout day, but may we all take a moment and thank all of the amazing men and women defending our country and all of those who have served for America. It should be more often that we thank these people, but it is nice that we make time to really celebrate the brave men and women who continue to fight for our freedom and for the love of this country.

Aaron and I relished in this beautiful/hot day at Chumley's with a large beer and some good conversation. It was nice to spend some quality time and apparently everyone else felt the same! Such a great day!

I opted for the light pair of jeans paired with a flowy accordion top and a statement necklace. I love this necklace and it was a random find at Nordstrom while I worked there! (Stop counting in your head how often I say that ;)

This simple, but chic outfit combined with such a fantastic day has set off this unofficial start to summer just right! Hope you all enjoyed not only the weather, but the great weekend sales!
