Simplicity

Gotta love a truly simple chic look. I love how comfortable this outfit is, the simplicity of a chambray top and skinny jeans makes for a great weekend look. I had a wonderful weekend spending time with my love, my friends, and my family! Free time really doesn't get much better than that, right? I had a simply wonderful time.

How was your weekend??

Doily or cardigan?

I've run into this problem before with items of clothing being able to double as a table cloth. I suppose I'm just all about fashion and utility. This adorable lace cover up was purchased at Nordstrom (pause for shock). I loved pairing it with these new Calvin Klein pumps, originally $120 and I got them for $40!! Talk about a steal. This color may be lacking in color, but it's definitely not lacking in texture.

Cowgirl up

I love pairing this simple small scarf with Spring outfits. The scarf looks like those old westerns. I found these super cute aviators at Old Navy, for 40% off! Gotta love a good deal, right? One might think I ransacked the place, "This is a stick-up!" This look was perfect for a day of running errands and enjoying this beautiful Spring day!

Pinspired: Half Windsor

I'm obsessing over this Pinspired post! I found this amazing look on the blog The Corporate Catwalk and although my look is a little different, I was mostly inspired to try this 'out of the box' tie look. I really want to try and style an outfit more like hers, but I'm loving this combo too! Menswear can be a really chic way to amp up an outfit! Look at Emma Stone this year at the Golden Globes with her pantsuit. Popsugar also wrote a great article on this androgynous style! Popsugar Article Link

Fashion is all about switching it up and pushing yourself out of your style box. We all have one, but that just makes it even more fun to do something different on occasion!

What's your favorite menswear piece to rock?

Clearing the rack...

In an attempt to clear the rack or rather clear my bank account, I traveled to Nordstrom Rack to be irresponsible and buy a plethora of new pieces for the new year. Unfortunately, I was sorely out of luck this trip, but I did find this plaid top, which I love. This baby was originally $38 and I got it for $5!! That's a steal! I love this style of plaid and I'm always a sucker for a long line top. I was unable to get a good picture of the back, but it is longer in the back and has a cute button detail. Hope your new year is off to a great start!

Ruff life

Why, is that another C Wonder item? Well, yes, yes it is.

There's a dog on my sweater, does life get much better than that? As the holidays swiftly approach I have been bundling up in cozy sweaters and comfy jeans. I love that the once lame, animal print sweaters are now in style! It's really strange how styles can change, but I love it, because it challenges me to keep up with the times and research trends.

What's your fav new trend?

Style with flare!

Flare jeans are an absolute must this fall! Of course this is just my opinion, but I definitely think it's a good trend to follow. The 70's are back with a vengance, with flare jeans, rompers, curly curly hair, waist belts, clogs, espadrilles, etc. I love that fashion goes through ups and downs. The 70's is a great decade to emulate and true to form it will go away again and come back. Ah the cycle of life...and style.

Tribal Statement Necklace

Ah Memorial day! It may be a day off from work and a national cookout day, but may we all take a moment and thank all of the amazing men and women defending our country and all of those who have served for America. It should be more often that we thank these people, but it is nice that we make time to really celebrate the brave men and women who continue to fight for our freedom and for the love of this country.

Aaron and I relished in this beautiful/hot day at Chumley's with a large beer and some good conversation. It was nice to spend some quality time and apparently everyone else felt the same! Such a great day!

I opted for the light pair of jeans paired with a flowy accordion top and a statement necklace. I love this necklace and it was a random find at Nordstrom while I worked there! (Stop counting in your head how often I say that ;)

This simple, but chic outfit combined with such a fantastic day has set off this unofficial start to summer just right! Hope you all enjoyed not only the weather, but the great weekend sales!
