Work Wear Wednesday: Peplum Safari

Ah...work wear wenesday. I love to come up with new work looks. It's a delicate balance between style and practicality. Today's look is all about the blouse. This super cute (super old) leopard print peplum blouse is one of my favs! Last year I wrote a post about this piece and I had put it in my 'clothes to sell' pile, but I attempt to wear each item at least once and see if I'll change my mind. Long story short, this one snuck out of the pile and back into my closet. Sneaky little thing! I love pairing this top with neutral pants and shoes and a nice pop of jewels on top! Simply perfect for this beautiful hump day!

Enjoy your week everyone! #halfway

Simplicity

Gotta love a truly simple chic look. I love how comfortable this outfit is, the simplicity of a chambray top and skinny jeans makes for a great weekend look. I had a wonderful weekend spending time with my love, my friends, and my family! Free time really doesn't get much better than that, right? I had a simply wonderful time.

How was your weekend??

Doily or cardigan?

I've run into this problem before with items of clothing being able to double as a table cloth. I suppose I'm just all about fashion and utility. This adorable lace cover up was purchased at Nordstrom (pause for shock). I loved pairing it with these new Calvin Klein pumps, originally $120 and I got them for $40!! Talk about a steal. This color may be lacking in color, but it's definitely not lacking in texture.

Cowgirl up

I love pairing this simple small scarf with Spring outfits. The scarf looks like those old westerns. I found these super cute aviators at Old Navy, for 40% off! Gotta love a good deal, right? One might think I ransacked the place, "This is a stick-up!" This look was perfect for a day of running errands and enjoying this beautiful Spring day!

In need of heat

I am currently in the need of heat. That Indiana Spring that I'm always spouting off about is letting me down. These brisk temps and ridiculous wind is not making my heart happy. On a different note, I also need heat from an iron! Look at my skirt, yikes. Oh well, nothing fits anymore and I have to attempt to be professional at work, so what can a girl do. I love this combo and if the skirt didn't look like it came straight out of the bottom of my hamper, I'd be happier with it. Orange and Navy is one of those perfect color combos, some artsy person could explain this in depth, but I just love the way they look together!

Enjoy your Thursday!

Woah..my eyes!

I'm obsessing over this neon bag I got from my recent LeTote! The pictures do not do it justice on how bright it is, in the words of my friend hannah, "whoa, it hurts my eyes" haha. Sometimes fashion is pain, right? I will probably hold this item back and pretend like my account won't be charged, healthy?

Me: "Hi, my name is Abby and I'm a shopahaulic"

Everyone: "Hi, Abby."

Chambray vs. Tensel

My mom and I recently went shopping and I found this adorable chambray top, but to my surprise, it isn't chambray at all!! My wonderful seamstress mother schooled me on fabric by guessing that this shirt is actually Tensel...never heard of it? Neither had I. Apparently it's a different kind of "jean" textured fabric. It's heavier and softer at the same time. I figured as a fashion blogger it was my duty to enlighten you all with this new found knowledge! Anywho, this shirt is amazing and on point with this years trends. I loved pairing it with this paisley handkerchief style scarf and white dress skirt. This look was perfect for a beautiful day and inspired me to get out and be seen...well at the grocery store, but what can you do?
