Floral and Pleats if you Please

The past few weeks have been packed with work, school (for Aaron), and family. My brother jetted off to Washington to be a Wildland Firefighter, Aaron is taking his very important qualification exam, and I'm getting ready for our Convention in New Orleans! I'm excited for all the things ahead including putting more time into the blog. Thanks all for following along on my life and style journey!

Work Wear Wednesday: Peplum Safari

Ah...work wear wenesday. I love to come up with new work looks. It's a delicate balance between style and practicality. Today's look is all about the blouse. This super cute (super old) leopard print peplum blouse is one of my favs! Last year I wrote a post about this piece and I had put it in my 'clothes to sell' pile, but I attempt to wear each item at least once and see if I'll change my mind. Long story short, this one snuck out of the pile and back into my closet. Sneaky little thing! I love pairing this top with neutral pants and shoes and a nice pop of jewels on top! Simply perfect for this beautiful hump day!

Enjoy your week everyone! #halfway

Popping collars

Ps. It's finally warm out! I love this sunny weather and the warm rays on my skin. I pulled out this favorite Spring dress! Chambray, denim, tensel whatever you want to call it, it's definitely on trend. That being said, this chambray dress was a must purchase, since it was from Forever 21 I obviously didn't break the bank either. I decided to go for a vintage look with the popped collar and a nice patterned scarf to make this look slightly fancy. What are you all going to do to soak up the sun this weekend?

Living in Indulgence

Saturday was one of those totally indulgent (regret later) kind of days. I spent the day with my favorite and we had a delicious brunch at Delicia, they're basically our new Zest. I had the smoked salmon fritatta and ate it so quickly that I forget to snap a pic! Later we played pool at Bent Rail Brewery and to keep adding to the indulgence we went to Naked Tchopstix for our favorite appetizer and dinner at the Alley Cat Front Room. Phew, I'm exhausted and full just recapping that! Anyhow, my look for all these shenanigans was as follows.

Woah..my eyes!

I'm obsessing over this neon bag I got from my recent LeTote! The pictures do not do it justice on how bright it is, in the words of my friend hannah, "whoa, it hurts my eyes" haha. Sometimes fashion is pain, right? I will probably hold this item back and pretend like my account won't be charged, healthy?

Me: "Hi, my name is Abby and I'm a shopahaulic"

Everyone: "Hi, Abby."

Doily chic

You gotta love when an item in your closet reminds you of a doily, that must be fashion! This super cute long line cardigan is from Forever 21 and perfectly enough, it can be used as a table runner in a pinch! This entire outfit is made up of pieces I often want to wear, but find difficult to style. This cardigan is super cute, but can be difficult to pair. My tom's wedges are the same, partially because they make my feet look extra small and the color, although neutral, is not my typical shoe color. I think everyone has something in their closet they love, but don't wear because it's hard to be inspired!

Get inspired everyone and wear that great piece or two!

Fancy Schmancy

As the festivities continue today, I wanted to quickly post my look for Aaron and I's anniversary date last night. I went for a fancy, but casual and comfortable look. I paired a simple black Lush dress with a fun feather necklace and simple wedges. I love this dress and really all of Lush's products, which you can find in the BP department at Nordstrom. The high neck and A-line skirt make it super comfy, but chic.

Aaron and I partook in some lunch and beer at The Sinking Ship! The ship is a fantastic bar just down the street from our house. It's a great place to gather, watch the game, and get a PBR! They have a really relaxed vibe and a great assortment of delicious bar food. We had the cajun green beans and a stuffed burger. Yum.

We had dinner at Marco's restaurant and lounge. It was so delicious and our server was amazing! It's a quaint little place for a nice dinner right down the street. We had such a great time and I can't wait for the bowling fun we have planned for today!
