A New Do

Well...as you can probably see, I chopped off my hair. I was so ready for a change and didn't even wince with that first snip! Sometimes a fresh new do is all you need to refresh your mood. I love the short bob that the ever wonderful Jess gave me! I'm excited to play with it and find new ways to style it, don't worry the half top-knot will appear soon. I couldn't have a hairstyle without the possibility of a top knot. Today's look is one of my favs. This floral dress is super cute and easy to wear for multiple events. The back has a keyhole pattern that's open, but for work I opted to pair the dress with this sleeveless collared blouse to add some style and coverage.

Midi dress and Kilts

This dress is one of my favs and I purchased it long before the midi length came back on trend. I't so comfortable, flowy, and versatile. I can easily dress this up or down, like today's post. This Spring you'll see me in a lot of dresses. I think they're the perfect compliment to warmer weather. Even my brother's groomsmen admitted that they enjoyed the "flow" when they wore kilts for the wedding. Haha. Seeing Aaron in a kilt that day really did it for me and the rest is history.

Cheers to skirts and dresses!

Double Take: Work wear

Since work is going so well, I got to meet up with one of my esteemed colleagues for drinks at a hot spot in Broad Ripple, Delicia. I got to pick her brain about her success and get some invaluable tips on not only being successful, but striving in a male dominated work place! She was so inspiring. I recommend anyone out in the workforce to take the time to speak with as many people you look up to as possible. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by resources like my great staff. They are consistently encouraging me and affirming that I'm doing great work and am an asset to the team!

Ps. this is what I wore to meet up with her. obviously.

Wrap it up

You gotta love a wrap sweater! I found this gem at the Toggery, my go to resale boutique. The dress I'm wearing is sleeveless, so this wrap sweater was perfect to throw over top and hit the mid 40's weather in style. I'm off to a busy Friday, but it'll all be worth it for the relaxing Saturday I have planned! TGIF everyone!

Pinspired: Fur love

Today's Pinspired post is a simple chic look that's really set off by using a hoodie under a fur vest. This simple trick makes the look much more accessible for an every day look. This epic fur vest can sometimes feel a little "too much" for a casual dinner, but this look is perfect for just that! Topping it all off with a fluffy bun and there you have it, a fun, simple, casual, pinspired look.

Stripes and fur and florals Oh My!

I went to the Toggery to pick up my $$ from selling a few items and alas I ended up spending more than I made. I found this exceptional fur vest, yes another one! This black beauty (pun?) was only $8!!! That my friends is the advantage to shopping resale! Paired with my $12 pair of Loft dress pants, I think I made out like a bandit. I wanted to pair the fur with lots of fun textures and prints, hence the floral and stripes. I like the simplicity of this look and that it still packs a punch in the style department!

Throwback Thursday!

Today's post is a little bit different. I'm throwing it way back to when I was featured on College Fashionista for this layered look back in my senior year of college (aww good times). I loved this outfit, because it was super chic and extremely warm, which obviously was necessary. It was almost exactly 3 years ago that this picture was taken by fashion guru Irene Wang. I realized that I have worn all these items many times since and they've shown up on the blog often! I get asked all the time how I can afford all these clothes. My answer is always that most of them are super old! I try and re-purpose some of my favorite items and keep them trendy in new and fun ways, because my clothes budget is truly abysmal.

How do you 'recycle' outfits?
