Walk of shame...

I'm sure the title intrigued you...I love this uber comfy shirt/dress from Gap. It reminds me of a baggy tee-shirt one might steal to sulk home on the ever classy walk of shame. In reality, it's really just a fun baggy shirt dress, but hey nothing wrong with a funny story to go along. It's hard to pair super casual items like this and still have a stylish look, so I thought this nice lightweight scarf would pair well and not take too much attention from the main element. There's truly no better shoe to go with a super cozy outfit like this than a classic chuck taylor! All in all, I love this easy breezy look and I'm thankful I'm wearing it with full intention instead of my previous scenario...

Beanies, specs, and foodie love

Kind of late to keep you all posted on my weekend festivities, but oh well! Aaron and I decided to stay in this past weekend as we really did it up at Sullivan's last weekend. We opted for some snuggling and a fancy cheese plate paired with some wine. Aaron's brother and fiance got us this cool slate cutting board that doubles as a natural chalkboard with quartz "chalk". I thought it'd be perfect to display our Fresh Market findings! Paired with (admittedly cheap) wine, it was the perfect end to a great weekend. My outfit was super casual and easy to wear while roaming the market! I love this comfy striped dress from Old Navy and anything paired with my beanie is going to be cozy, plus I really fit in roaming Broad Ripple. #hipster

Stripes and fur and florals Oh My!

I went to the Toggery to pick up my $$ from selling a few items and alas I ended up spending more than I made. I found this exceptional fur vest, yes another one! This black beauty (pun?) was only $8!!! That my friends is the advantage to shopping resale! Paired with my $12 pair of Loft dress pants, I think I made out like a bandit. I wanted to pair the fur with lots of fun textures and prints, hence the floral and stripes. I like the simplicity of this look and that it still packs a punch in the style department!

Boston Terrier

Because I can't seem to leave a store without a sweater with a dog on it, I found this gem at Forever 21 and just had to have it. These little boston terriers are so freaking cute and since it's slightly cropped I can layer it easily to make different combinations. Today, I opted for my go to midi striped dress. I thought the patterns would go well together and it's a fun way to highlight my doggies. I paired my lovely louis to break up the black and white look. Well I'm off to enjoy this beautiful day!

Happy Sunday

Happy happy Sunday! I don't know why I love Sunday's so much, but it is just the most perfect day for relaxing. I think it might be due to the amount of Sundays I worked prior to this year, so I relish in these wonderful weekends off. Plus, Sunday is the obvious brunch day and who doesn't love brunch? If you don't love brunch, I'm not sure we can be friends. haha. Sometimes, Aaron and I opt for some homemade brunch, with grapefruit mimosas and my famous biscuits and gravy! (the trick is to use maple flavored sausage). Other weeks we opt to spend way too much money on the delicious drinks at Zest! we are regulars, which sounds so adult of us. And on ocassion, we just relax all day and watch Netflix in a perpetual cuddle, as to prepare our brains for the week ahead. Thus ends my love letter to Sunday.

How do you spend your SundayFunday?

Winter white and stripes

I love this simple comfy outfit. I was inspired or pinspired rather by a cute post on Pinterest. I love perusing the women's fashion section and finding ways to utilize my own items to create similar looks. I love this striped dress, but it's form fitting all over and can be a little intimidating to wear on its own. I love this short line sweater over it for an added layer of warmth and to break up the all over bodycon stripes. I wanted to add some other pattern to add a mix and this leopard print seemed perfect! I think that animal prints are a great way to throw in a pattern, but they can often be used as a neutral.

How do you wear bold prints?

Whoa..stripes!

My co-worker walked in and saw my outfit and just said, "whoa. Stripes! It's just a lot of...stripes" Haha. This did not offend me, as no statement on my style should, since after all it's MY style. I love this look! I was all ready to go with a green dress and this jacket and then this striped dress caught my eye. As if I'd been hit with a lightening strike of inspiration I quickly disrobed and made the epic change.

Alright, alright, so maybe not epic, but it's fun and a little different, which was exactly what I was going for. Sometimes it's fun to wear something and have people go "huh?" because they wouldn't put it together, but in a weird way it works?

Do you layer similar patterns?
