Beanies, specs, and foodie love

Kind of late to keep you all posted on my weekend festivities, but oh well! Aaron and I decided to stay in this past weekend as we really did it up at Sullivan's last weekend. We opted for some snuggling and a fancy cheese plate paired with some wine. Aaron's brother and fiance got us this cool slate cutting board that doubles as a natural chalkboard with quartz "chalk". I thought it'd be perfect to display our Fresh Market findings! Paired with (admittedly cheap) wine, it was the perfect end to a great weekend. My outfit was super casual and easy to wear while roaming the market! I love this comfy striped dress from Old Navy and anything paired with my beanie is going to be cozy, plus I really fit in roaming Broad Ripple. #hipster

A work of art..

I feel like today's look is very art student-esque. I can imagine venturing to my painting class, easel in tow and ready to over analyze every brushstroke. Alright, so maybe I'm going a little far, but I do love this outfit! I love it so much that I wore it to dinner, then to work the next day. I love that it translates well for both work and after hours fun! This fun printed skirt was an old navy find, forever ago! Literally, this skirt is from high school. I hadn't worn it for years until last summer I brought it out of the black whole where I put clothes I can't part with but never wear (this is bad, just sell them and get new ones). I was surprised to see that it translated well into winter style also! Pairing anything with tights make it possible; right?

Do you have any recent pieces that came back from the past?

Street Style and Sunday Funday Recap

My Sunday Funday has been a perfect combination of brunch, mimosas, snuggling, football, and friends! Does it get any better than that? I began my morning snuggling with my baby Penny and loading up on caffeine for the day. My homemade biscuits and gravy paired perfectly with a grapefruit mimosa. I wanted to rock this edgy street style look today, since after all if not on Sunday Funday, then when? I stole Aaron's favorite beanie to top off this comfy look. I've been all about beanies lately. I like that it's on trend and goes well with many different styles to add a more hipster vibe to a look. Happy Monday everyone, only 4 more days!

Weekend relaxation

With an impending snow storm, I opted for a slightly less warm winter chic look yesterday. This forest green dress is tres comfortable and I love the color. It's also a great work look if I throw on some tights and a jacket. After a super long week I was able to indulge in some blog picture taking and a lot of needed sleep. I've had the pleasure of snuggling and relaxing all weekend with the one I love. How have you been spending your weekend?

Beanie Style

It really doesn't get any better than some troopa boots and a classic beanie. I love getting the chance to rock a super cool look like this. This style is not my typical look, but I love going out of the box and staying on trend. There is the added bonus that it's freezing and wearing a hat is just plain necessary, but this fun oversized beanie keeps me hip (although saying hip does not). I paired this with a cute floral infinity scarf and picked up the blue of the hat. Keeping with the hipster vibe, this pair of troopa boots are an oldie, but a goodie! I got these in college and still get compliments every time I wear them. The greatest thing about this look is that I'm warm and comfortable!

Just like old times

Today's look is very vintage inspired. These Free People jeans are super flared, which I love! It adds drama to the look and is very on trend! Paired with a knit beanie and there you have it, a simple yet not boring look. Vintage looks are so fun to play around with, because you can utilize newer pieces or actual vintage pieces. I like to find vintage style pieces, which are abundant with certain brands such as Free People. Pairing them with vintage items can amp up the look or you can wear more modern pieces to just have a vintage element.

What's your favorite vintage era?
