Spring Color Explosion

In honor of the blooming flowers and warm weather I opted for my work wear look to be filled with color! I wanted to wear these amazing BCBG shoes and basically paired everything else around it. I loved the idea of teal and hot pink, I feel like a superman ice cream cone. It's easier to rock some bold prints and colors with an overall neutral to tie it all together, so I opted for the black and cream base. Keep checking out the blog for updates on this week of wedding fun!!

Work Wear Wednesday: Highlighter Yellow

Yay for Wednesdays! I get a recharge on Wednesdays knowing that it's the middle of the week and there's only fun ahead. I'm having a blast coming up with some unique and fun looks for the Work Wear Wednesday and this beautiful weather doesn't hurt. I love this look for a couple different reasons. I love the funky color and pattern of the skirt, the pairing of yellow and the peach in the necklace, and lastly the style of sleeve on this shirt. This almost cap sleeve is trending right now and I just love it! It's very reminiscent of 70's style, which is just fine with me, because I love that era. I'd venture say that seventie's fashion is probably the most dominant era of inspiration for this years trends. What do you think?

Wrapped in Roses

Happy Thursday everyone! Here in Indy we've got some major storms rolling in, which I am all for! I love stormy weather on occasion. It can be so relaxing with that gray haze in the air and the ominous sound of thunder from miles away. I've been in a grumpy mood today, so a nice stormy day to reflect my mood is quite perfect!

Today's look is kind of a throwback, but not...the throwback is that last year a post featuring my bestie Mia featured the same dress in blue. This dress is back on the market at Gap this year, so I had to snatch it up. So mine is new, but the style is throwback..does that work? I love this fit and flare style, because tunic styles look absolutely ridiculous on my body shape (paper bag style, anyone?). Fit and flare works well for athletic girls, because it adds some curves and adversely it is great for girls with some curves, like me, because it cinches at the waist and flares out over the booty! Holler to the girls with a booty, cheers to the struggle!

Working girl

I recently indulged in my favorite movie of all time...Working Girl! It's a lovely story of woman in the 80's cutting off her crimped mullet and becoming a success! Well, there's more to it than that, she also get with Harrison Ford. Not bad girl, not bad. Granted, none of this has to do with my look today except that it's a work look and my hair is a little bigger than usual!

Spring in my step

I'm a sucker for Spring in Indiana. I know we are very far away from it, but I didn't want all my cute spring attire to go to the wayside. This floral dress is such a cute pattern, it reminds me of watercolor flower paintings. I love layering and a lot of elements to winter wear, but I truly love spring fashion. That's why it's important to me to find ways to incorporate these pieces into all four seasons. I paired this dress with my tried and true collared blouse, a gorgeous mint coat from Old Navy and of course, tights and booties and there you have it, a spring outfit "winterized"!

Work Wear Wednesdays

At our last blogger event one of the girls mentioned how she's lucky that she can wear whatever she wants to work. She's definitely lucky and that was something I had for a while, but there's something to be said for the fashion of work wear. It's a bit harder to keep a stylish tone, but I wanted to start Work Wear Wednesdays to bring light to the fun stylish ways to dress for work.

Keep a look out next Wednesday for another post in this series, and feel free to comment any of your work wear tips!

Vince Camuto dress

I absolutely love this Vince Camuto dress I got for xmas! It's perfect for work and date night. The leather detailing adds a perfect modern touch to a simple chic look. The draping in the midsection is flattering and comfortable. I wanted to add a fun element to jazz it up and still look professional, hence the white blazer. This white blazer is a great item for all different kinds of outfits, because it is just modern enough to add a lot to the outfit, but still has the classic beauty of a blazer. Hope everyone is have a great day and staying very warm.

1st Snow

Obviously this picture is pre-shot, because today is actually our first official snow here in good ol' Indiana. Last year around this time was a terrible winter storm that kept me and many out of school/work for a week! Penny had to have surgery, had a bad reaction and got sick, and our power went out. Now, with all that said, I can not complain too much about these few inches and freezing temps, it could be a lot worse! Well, I hope you enjoy this work-chic look!

Stay warm out there
