Mint-condition

Sorry for the late post! I had an unbelievable weekend celebrating the Bride to be! We went to a cubs game then dinner and bars in Chicago. Everything was just perfect! Today's look is a simple cute work look. I found this adorable mint overlay top at Loft, it has been a great piece for layering! I wore it recently with a pretty coral tank underneath, it was a great color contrast. Currently none of my work pants fit, so I opted for my new culottes! These babies are great for work and fun, the length is perfect and they fit perfectly!

Double Take: Culottes

If you read yesterday's post, you might have said to yourself "Yeah, I like the culotte trend, but how do I wear that for a normal day?" I myself wondered this and threw together a double take outfit for a casual look. Double take is taking one item and using it for a completely different look! You probably do this all the time without even trying. That adorable skirt you wear to the bar with a silky form fitting top makes its way to brunch paired with a loose fitting tee and some sneakers, you just did a double take! I bet you got a few double takes for your style too ;) Anyway, I digress, this culotte look was my way of making culottes super casual and perfect for a day of running errands and enjoying the day comfortably. Hope you like it!

I've got my EYE-let on Spring!

I'm so excited that the weather is starting to warm up and become that beautiful Indiana Spring I love! I received my order from Old Navy and just had to wear this adorable eyelet dress first! I have always loved eyelet patterns, they scream Spring and are tres girly. My style switches around, as I'm sure you've noticed. I opt for a girlier style from time to time and today's look is just that! Someone told me that Indiana is behind the times in fashion (not 100% false), but they said "take mint for example..it's so out!" Well, on that front I either disagree or have decided to be out of style, what do you think? Mint...yea or nea? I just got a sudden craving for Thin Mints...

Enjoy this beautiful weather folks

Spring in my step

I'm a sucker for Spring in Indiana. I know we are very far away from it, but I didn't want all my cute spring attire to go to the wayside. This floral dress is such a cute pattern, it reminds me of watercolor flower paintings. I love layering and a lot of elements to winter wear, but I truly love spring fashion. That's why it's important to me to find ways to incorporate these pieces into all four seasons. I paired this dress with my tried and true collared blouse, a gorgeous mint coat from Old Navy and of course, tights and booties and there you have it, a spring outfit "winterized"!

IMAmazed

Sunday might be my favorite day of the week. This past Sunday we had an absolute blast! Aaron and I have a habit of brunch and fun relaxing Sunday activities when we're both free for the weekend. I love that there is no pressure on a Sunday. You could lay around and watch Netflix and it's a success or you can go to brunch, a movie, museum, bowling...etc and again a major success!

This Sunday we opted for a great lunch at Flatwater in Broad Ripple and visiting the IMA (Indianapolis Museum of Art). Oh and we took Penny to the local park and relished in her innocent joy of roaming the grassy knolls!

Flatwater is a fantastic little restaurant right on the canal. It is perfect for a beautiful warm day, but hard to get a seat. We basked in the sun and savored our local brews. The absolute must have item at this restaurant is the tuna tartar appetizer. It is spicy, fresh, cooling, and delicious. All of that siracha sushi grade tuna is served with these crispy wonton chips. Yum! We literally scarfed it down so fast I forgot to snap a pic!

We really wanted to go to a museum this weekend, so we decided on the IMA because it's so close and here's the kicker...it's free!

We waltzed in and checked out their latest exhibit, a Bonsai tree exhibit. It was actually pretty interesting and we got to vote on our favorite tree.

This one was my favorite! Look at the roots, how cool is that?

They had this really neat installation in the entrance, you could walk inside it too. Most of these pics don't do all the beauty we saw today justice, but it's worth seeing.

We didn't make it too far into the gardens, because it started getting too hot, but they had a cute little garden sale and food trucks. It definitely looked hopping and I'd love to check it out next time.
