Kate Bosworth is perfection in this simple chic look. I love that she is mixing a lot of elements from clog style booties all the way up to her aviators. Today's PINspired look is this super chic all black look. I love the way she utilized some leather to really make the look pop! I opted to bring my statement jewelry to my ears, featuring my LeTote lovelies. I am a huge fan of monochromatic looks, I think they work so well for a ton of different events and occasions. I try to bring in some sort of texture or tone to break it up a bit, such as my fun earrings. I am in love with her quilted version of the skirt, but c'est la vie, this is pINSPIRATION, not magical Pinterest closet! Which, why hasn't anyone come up with that yet?

Simply styled

Everyone needs a little tweed in their life. It's a great pattern that Chanel made oh so luxurious. Granted, I don't own the coveted tweed by Chanel, but I can opt for this great Limited blazer. I kept the overall look simple with just a silky button up, flared jeans, and booties. To add a little drama and hide the mop I opted for a classic floppy hat, because why the heck not. Floppy hats are a super fun accessory and can really glam up any look!

Call me cat-woman

Alright, so maybe not a total skin tight cat woman look, but with a cape and pleather I felt it was a semi -accurate title. Capes are not only functional, but fashionable! I like the drama...pause for shock. I mean come on, who doesn't associate a cape with super heros? or models? I'm good with being mistaken for either! 

I am currently obsessed with layering long necklaces, for an extra dramatic look. This long chain locket from fossil is super cute, but it was always a very simple look until I added the pewter chain necklace too.

 I think that is my favorite part about fashion and fall, layering. You can take any item in your closet and transform it into so many different looks. It's so important to mix and match or you will become (more) crazy about purchasing new items. I try to remind myself that I have so many outfits still unexplored with all the items I currently own. Alright, alright, that does not keep me from the occasional and sometimes excessive shopping, but if def. helps!

Ruffles for days...

I love this ivory petticoat clip I got from Forever 21. It is a great way to, quite literally, add some flare to an outfit! It also adds a bit of drama, which anyone who know me will attest to my love of drama. I also adore a monochromatic color palatte, because it opens up your mind to textures and details that color can often guide you to ignore. The slip is kind of difficult to pair, but I really like it with this crop top, so it doesn't cover up the ruffles, because..why cover up ruffles? You have to top...well I suppose bottom off any good outfit with a good pair of shoes. These adorable black booties are an essential for so many outfits and especially this one. The black elongates the leg while adding the slightest amount of heel, because post Purdue my heel height tolerance went waayyy down (literally).

Sometimes color just isn't on the menu. I wanted a simply comfortable look and that's what I got. I love color and bright fun pieces, but adversely I love monochromatic looks too. It can seem even more difficult sometimes to rock a black and white look. This striped jacket always feels like a prison look to me, but hey who knows. The prison look may be in, in light of Orange is the New Black!

Bow-tastic

As you all know, I love rain boots! Practicality and fashion can often be forged to create a trend that helps us all...hence rain boots! Why not stop ruining our sandals, sneakers, and suede shoes and opt for a rubber sole. The fashion industry caught on and here come the $150 pairs of rain boots. Although I do love my hunters, I'm cheating on them a bit today with this super cute pair of Dizzy short galoshes with a bow. They've been kind of hard to pair, so obviously I opted for all black. I love rainy days and boots, so rain boots are a marriage made in heaven for my wardrobe. If only I could snuggle on the couch all day. Have a great (not too soggy) day!

Monochromatic love

This weekend has been so beautiful and perfect for some fun with good friends. I had such an amazing time with my best friends getting sushi and going out for a great night in Broad Ripple. I love spring in Indiana, because you never know what the weather will be like from one day to the next. It's great for my closet! I don't have to stow away all of my jackets and jeans just yet, but I can indulge in some fun spring items as well. 

We had a cookout yesterday and got to hang out with Michael and Krista! They left us last year for Michael's first year of residency in Michigan, but they are finally back! We got to catch up over delicious burgers from Fresh Market, fresh Indiana corn, and yummy fruit! We also got to play our favorite game, if you've never played cards against humanity, you are missing out! It's a favorite of ours and a great choice for a good laugh.

I had to add a pic of the "Donut talk to me" shirt I got to wear in honor of National Donut day on Friday! Anyone get a free donut? My sweet indulgence was the shirt in lieu of the sweet treat. 

It wasn't extremely hot out, so I got to wear some cropped pants and a tank, hence the mix and match of seasons. Hope you had an equally delightful weekend!
