Lavender + Patterns = Spring Chic

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm so excited for this upcoming weekend and following couple of weekends. In my future (in order) is my brother's 30th bday, farm trip, Mia and Zack coming to town, Claire's wedding, a trip to Purdue, my dad's birthday, and Aaron and I's anniversary! Whew, it's going to be a jam packed few weeks, but fun filled for sure! I went for a Spring chic look today with pastels and patterns. I like how the pastels "go" with the color scheme on the skirt pattern. This look paired perfectly with my gold Betsey Johnson sandals, because a pop of metallic never heart anyone!

Buns and Ruffles

Today's look is perfect for this cold weather with an oversized patterned cardigan, warm leggings, and shearling filled boots! This cardigan has been through a lot! It's one of my go-to's and has been for quite some time. This year it even required a little love from my mom's Pfaff! Every now and then you come across a piece that really sticks with you, although you never know until you bring it home. I've owned many items I thought I would revere for a long time and have since forgotten. Yet, on the flipside I've bought things on a total whim and they've been my favorites ever since.

I paired this beaut with the most amazing little booties! I got these babies for free (yes, free) from being in the Purdue Fashion Show. The designer gave us a pair of shoes to go with her amazing designs. I love these booties so much, because they seem to stay perfectly in style. They are so cute that I decided to go ahead and throw on some ruffle socks, because why the hell not?! In the end this outfit was perfect to counteract my last day without a shampoo *hence the top knot* and really set the tone for a perfect winter day.

What's your soul-mate fashion piece?

Chili days

I'm off to the 3rd annual chili cook-off among friends! I'm entering my meat and bean spicy chili, so wish me luck! I wore this outfit last night for my date night with Aaron. This super cute blazer is great to throw on a black dress to jazz things up. I love neutral looks, that's pretty obvious if you scroll through my blog, but I like to throw in patterns and color to change things up a bit. No matter what your style is it's important to always have a few statement pieces in your repertoire!

What's your favorite way to jazz up your style?
