Chili days

I'm off to the 3rd annual chili cook-off among friends! I'm entering my meat and bean spicy chili, so wish me luck! I wore this outfit last night for my date night with Aaron. This super cute blazer is great to throw on a black dress to jazz things up. I love neutral looks, that's pretty obvious if you scroll through my blog, but I like to throw in patterns and color to change things up a bit. No matter what your style is it's important to always have a few statement pieces in your repertoire!

What's your favorite way to jazz up your style?

Make it rain!

Alright, so of course I'd love for "make it rain" to mean that I'm rolling in the dough, but instead it's yet another rainy day in Indianapolis. Personally, I love rainy days and they are made much better by snuggling in pj's and binge watching a tv series on Netflix, but instead I got to watch the rain outside of the window at work. I was very tempted to throw on some leggings, a cozy sweater, and some boots, but I decided to push through that thought and dress up today. I love this midi skirt, it's like a big parachute! The skirt is yet another piece that I have only worn a few times, but I'm trying to fall back into love with some of my clothes since I'm on a budget crunch.

Do you have an item hanging in your closet that you put on and always change before leaving the house?

Tip for the day: Walk out the door and own it! If you regret it, donate or sell it.

Vintage Love!

I get sent over to the boutique building at work and this is what happens. I bought this amazing jumpsuit at Adorn Boutique in Broad Ripple. It's so unique and beautiful and for only $22 you really can't ask for much more.

I love vintage clothes for so many reasons; the trendiness, variety, price, and most of all the knowledge that someone lived their lives in these clothes. I imagine a petite (hence the length of the pants) woman finding this jumpsuit and buying it for a fancy affair. She wore pointy toed kitten heels and a lovely coat with giant shoulder pads.

Do you ever imagine what life was led in your vintage pieces?

Have a great day, you never know what it will mean.
