Double Take

You know when you get a new item of clothing and you seem to find ways to wear it all the time! That's how I feel about this free people sweater. I love the feel, look, and style of it so I've been trying to find new ways to wear it. I'm loving this look layered over a long line button up! I like adding a bit of detail with the collar and top it off with a collar necklace too! I struggled with a shoe pairing (per usual) because these jeans aren't true skinny jeans, so they look too bunchy with boots and my booties just weren't working! Sometimes a good ol' flat does the trick!

Do you obsess over new items?

Chunky layers

As the weather gets chillier, layers become increasingly necessary. I love layering any time of the year, because it gives you the chance to mix and match colors, patterns, and textures, but during the fall and winter there's an added bonus of warmth! I love this look because of it's comfy oversized look and the mix and match of lavender, cargo, and suede. A quick top-knot and I'm all set for the day.

What's your favorite way to layer?

Plaits and pullovers

I'm not sure why I am in the mood to be British today, but c'est la vie (oh lord, now I'm French)! I got this amazingly comfortable and stylish sweater top from Nordstrom the other day! I'm sure it won't shock anyone that it is Free People, because it's adorable. I love this look, because it's super cozy and perfect for a day of running errands. This waffle knit is light, yet perfect for layering under a coat. It's also versatile and will undoubtedly show up on the blog again!

This is goodbye...

...to fall! Sorry kids, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, but aparrently Fall has flown the coup. It's frosty out, snowing occassionally, and just plain freaking cold. So, we meet again, Winter. It seems you're still the sp"ICY" mistress I remember. I would say that this is the time to move, but even the south is shivering in their cowboy boots! What has this world come to? Come on Mother Nature, give us a break!

Well, that's all for my rant! For now..

Enjoy the outfit and the weather oh! and the weekend!

Mids and Toms

Per usual Indiana weather, today was pretty chilly. I am so attached to wearing Spring clothes though! I paired this super comfy and cute midi dress with an oversized knit sweater to cover up for the windy day. I love this dress and it's been a nice staple for me far before the midi length was as popular as it is now.

First of all, can I get a hallelujah for longer lengths becoming popular! Don't get me wrong I like mini skirts and dresses as much as the next gal, but it is so refreshing to have it be stylish to wear something other than that. The midi length is so classy and appropriate for all different occasions.

Second of all, I love Toms! Their canvas shoes are adorable and it's always nice to know your purchase goes toward such a great cause. I saw Blake Mycoskie speak at Purdue once and his story was so inspiring. He's only 37 and look at all he's done and what he's created. I think the fashion industry is aiming at a much higher purpose these days and that is fantastic!
