Cozy layers
Today's look is just a simple layered look to warm up the brisk Indy cold that seems to be gracing us with it's presence. I love this cozy C Wonder sweater, because it's neutral and since it's not super long it is perfect for layering. This long line button up blouse is a great way to wear leggings and layers, without the unfortunate bum showing. Granted, these Zella leggings are aaammmaazzingg and never show your behind, I still subscribe to the idea that leggings are not pants.

Just like old times
Today's look is very vintage inspired. These Free People jeans are super flared, which I love! It adds drama to the look and is very on trend! Paired with a knit beanie and there you have it, a simple yet not boring look. Vintage looks are so fun to play around with, because you can utilize newer pieces or actual vintage pieces. I like to find vintage style pieces, which are abundant with certain brands such as Free People. Pairing them with vintage items can amp up the look or you can wear more modern pieces to just have a vintage element.
What's your favorite vintage era?

Pinspired Series
It's been a while since I've done a Pinspired post, so you know...here's another! I absolutely love this inspirational look. I think I can find a lot of ways to emulate it with different items. I personally love hers a little more, but alas I can work on it :) I love finding inspiration from a vast array of places! It keeps my looks on trend and fresh. It would be so easy for me to fall into the rut of jeans and tees, which don't get me wrong I love that look too, but I like to add some variety!

Lounging around
Sometimes it is so nice to wear a super comfy laid back look like today's. I spent yesterday afternoon with my mom in our post-Christmas haze. We finally got to see "Into the Woods" since it was sold out on Christmas Day! I think that it is definitely worth seeing, but in the end I didn't love it. I'm sorry to say it, but I like my fairy tales with happy endings. Call me traditional, but I like for Prince Charming to be a gentleman. Regardless, it's a beautifully made movie, so definitely worth the trip. I have been dressed up for so many Holiday events and family gatherings, I felt the need for my stretchy jeans, sneakers, and my soft light denim top.

Dress to your strengths
I love layering dresses over button up shirts! I think it is a great way to change up a simple look. I love this blue check because it's so crisp looking and easy to layer. I think it's important to know your strengths when styling, because as many times as I try and buy something super cute, but I'm not completely comfortable, I will never wear it! I don't like to wear short sleeves very often, so a great way to make this dress wearable for me is to layer it! You don't always have to love an item on it's own, if you are creative you can make an item work in a different way!

Saddle up
Today's look is super simple and cowgirl inspired! Granted, it's pretty subtle influences, but I love the denim on denim and the cowboy boots! I paired it with black tights and a fun high-waisted skirt to make it a little more up-town than honky tonk. However, I love that look too! I like mixing fashion influences to make a unique outfit. Whether it is dressing up a cute pair of jeans, dressing down a lbd, or putting modern touches on a classic western look.

Winter white and stripes
I love this simple comfy outfit. I was inspired or pinspired rather by a cute post on Pinterest. I love perusing the women's fashion section and finding ways to utilize my own items to create similar looks. I love this striped dress, but it's form fitting all over and can be a little intimidating to wear on its own. I love this short line sweater over it for an added layer of warmth and to break up the all over bodycon stripes. I wanted to add some other pattern to add a mix and this leopard print seemed perfect! I think that animal prints are a great way to throw in a pattern, but they can often be used as a neutral.
