STEAL that trend: Midi Skirt

I love the midi skirt! It's the perfect piece to go from day to night. I made a compilation of pieces to create one DAY look and one NIGHT look with this gorgeous floral midi skirt from choies.com and every item is under $150! Most of the items are under $50, except that gorgeous pale blue leather wallet is $148, but I couldn't part with it!

What's your favorite Spring trend this year??

"Florals, for Spring? Groundbreaking" The Devil Wears Prada.

While she's not lying, florals for Spring might not be the most original it is still one of my favorite patterns to break out with the warmer temps! I love adding a pop of floral to an outfit or going all out with a flower power explosion outfit. I picked out some of my favorite florals for this season. What are your thoughts on florals this season?

Work Wear Wednesday: Straight Leg Pants

Today's post is all about how to snag that work style trend for less! Although, I'm kind of obsessed with the Stella McCartney ones, so if that's in your budget, go for it!! I love the straight leg style, it's so chic and looks like you walked into work straight off the runway. These pants are perfect for the transition into Spring too, you can wear them with fun colorful flats or simple black heels. With a simple pant like this it gives you free reign to amp it up with funky colors, chic accessories, and trendy shoes.

Valentines Look

In honor of this upcoming "holiday" I wanted to post a super cute date night look with a little twist! I like to make the classic Valentine's day colors pretty subtle. I think the black and gold with just a nice pop of red on the lip is perfect to make a subtle statement! The fun part comes with making your undergarments undoubtedly "Valentines" themed! This Stella McCartney lingere is to die for and just perfect for a nice little apres dinner surprise! What are you wearing for this super romantic evening? Are you staying in or indulging in a delicious dinner out?

Fashion, Films, Inspiration

I put together some polyvore boards of film classics inspiring fashion! Film has always been one of the most influential modes of changing and molding fashion. I picked just a few of my favorites, but I could do this for hours!! I tried to modernize and use the character as inspiration.

What's your favorite film fashion icon?

Fashion Staple: Trench Coat

Another week, another fashion staple! One of my favorites is the trench coat, because not only is it a fashion staple it is also a great statement piece (series idea...) and can be worn so many different ways. As much as I'd love to indulge in a beautiful Burberry trench, I posted a much more modest one from H&M. What's your favorite fashion staple?

Fashion Staple: Black Blazer

I have a serious obsession with blazers! This 'Fashion Staple' post is all about how versatile this piece can be!

I love using a dressy item like a blazer with different combinations to be not only on trend, but make great use of a staple.

Photo Challenge + Summer Cravings!

I wanted to post a quick snap of "what I'm wearing" for the photo challenge.

I also wanted to share my summer cravings with you all considering it's getting hotter every day! I love the vintage style swim suit! I don't know how it would look on me and I'm still very hesitant to try on bikinis.

The overall craze is pretty obvious if you read fashion blogs or magazines, but it's been on my wish list for quite some time now! I love that fashion items come full circle. What was once "in" is just as quickly "out" and then just like that, it's "IN" again! Look at flare jeans, ombre hair, and rompers. Fashion is ever changing, which makes me love it even more!

Have a splendid Tuesday everyone!

Fashion Staple: Screen Tee

For the next installment of the Fashion Staple series, I chose the screen tee! This one happens to also be a perfect pick for an Indy centric blog. It's only $28 at Nordstrom! As the shirt suggests "I'm IN love". I wanted to show how versatile the screen tee can be. I love that comfy items are becoming trendy and can be used so many different ways. It was hard for me to even narrow down the options.

What's your favorite way to don the screen tee? This is also a great way to show how easy pieces can go from day to night!

Don't forget to stay up on all the fashion fun on one of the social media links on the right. Stay classy Indiana ;)

Fashion Staples: Boyfriend Jeans

As I stated before I really wanted to make a series on fashion staples! The first staple I decided to choose are the ever adorable boyfriend jeans! I love the comfortability and fashionable elements make it a perfect piece for many seasons. I chose to make four really different and super fun outfits with the same pair of jeans. These are from H&M, so naturally super cheap!

What's your favorite fashion staple? Keep checking the blog for some looks with different staples. I'm thinking Blazer might be next.

Also, don't forget to follow us on bloglovin, twitter, facebook, or instagram!

Wedding Weekend!

Wedding Outfit

This weekend was such a wonderful time of friends, love, and marriage! We all ventured up to Schererville, IN to celebrate the wedding of Chris and Katie Gerber. It was a beautiful wedding, with emerald green and coral accents.

Katie looked so beautiful in a strapless white organza gown and Chris was very handsome in his dress whites for the Navy! All in all it was such a great time and so good to see all of our college friends!

Finding a wedding going outfit is sooo difficult! First of all, be aware of the couple and the dress code. Second of all, be sure to air to the side of over appropriate! Hoochie's beware; this is not the time to wear your hot, fun, club going dress. Also, never wear white. This is a simple one, but it is harder than you think when you're looking. I ran across so many dresses that had a lot of white and had to nix them from my options!

Finally, I opted for a super cute maxi from H&M that had a high neckline and a small slit to add a little flare! I loved the fun print and color, while being very appropriate and comfortable.

These are just a few random pictures from the night! Have a great week!

(This is not the groom...lol)

Currently Craving

I have a true obsession with fashion and I will never have enough of it! I love to follow all my favorite fashion blogs on Bloglovin, but I am starting to find that my shopping addiction is becoming fueled constantly! Right now my general list of things I have in my random online shopping bags is long, but these are the items I'm craving the most for this spring!

I love these Valentino shoes so much! I would never ever be able to justify the price, but a girl can dream.

I think the printed tee is a great way to be comfy, make a statement, and it's so versatile! I love to dress these tees up with a blazer and pumps or dress it down with skinnies and chucks.

The Panama hat is so fun and I think hats are truly making their comeback! This hat is very 1920's with homage to the floppy straw-hat look. I think its super cute and sophisticated to add a little flare to an outfit.

Beanies are awesome. That's all.

I have been very interested in bringing prints into my life and I think camo is such a great print that can be used also as a neutral. I think it's so fun to mix and match prints and the possibilities are vast with the camo skinny!

Lastly, the gladiator sandal! At first I thought these were goofy and too dramatic, but after seeing them styled in a few different style blogs I fell in love. I will say I'm slightly attached to the Stuart Weitzman ones, but I generally don't invest that much money in trend pieces. The beauty of trend items is that there will be many different brands copying it at lower prices and it's worth it to be frugal because it's not going to last as a style too long so who cares if it lasts as a shoe!
