Birthday Shenanigans

Well folks, I have now officially entered my late twenties. I had such an amazing day and weekend filled with friends and family. Friday I got to go shopping with my mom, which had been a while, so naturally I went a little overboard! You'll be seeing some cute items pop up from this shopping trip. I got these awesome boyfriend jeans for 40% off at the Loft! The family and I had dinner at Matt the Millers in Carmel and enjoyed some delicious (complimentary) carrot cake! Nom nom. The look for today's post is from Saturday, when Aaron and I spent the day preparing for my party. It wasn't very warm (shocker) so I opted for super cozy and errand running worthy pieces.

I am so blessed to have the people in my life that I do and they are truly what made this such an amazing birthday!

Backstage pass

If I could go back and interview anyone in the world dead or alive, I'd gun it to the 60's and have a good ol' sit down with the Fab Four, the Beatles! In my dream, we are in the flat featured in their film Help, just chilling out in their grass pit. I would have a million questions, but probably wouldn't be able to utter one of them. I'm a Beatles fan, to say the least, so for this "backstage" look I opted for yet another Beatles tee. Since one must try to appear professional, I threw on my trusty blazer and decided to rock to half bun! All I need is a backstage pass, this outfit, and a Delorian and I'm all set!

Who would you love to meet?

It smells like teen spirit

I've been struck by the 90's bug! In my opinion there just isn't a better decade. Alright, so the fashion was a little grungy, but that's not always a bad thing. Trends are so important, even terrible ones, because they shape what ends up being an entire decade of fashion. Every decade has an undeniable style, how else would you have themed parties?! The 90's brought comfort to fashion, with baggy pants, band tees, sneakers, and well let's face it less showering. While I couldn't emulate the entire decade in one outfit, I opted for the classic shirt tied around the waist! Pairing it with my beatles sweater just seemed too perfect! I love this look because it represents my favorite decade and it's super comfy and cute!

What's your favorite decade fashion?

Rocking to the BEAT

Yes, this is another Beatles shirt. I love the Beatles and screen tees so why not marry the two! I love this bowler hat from Urban Outfitters and it feels very fitting or a Beatles inspired look. Hats are one of those fashion accessories that are hard to wear, at least for me, but I still try. I always wonder if I look "too much" with a hat, but in the end, who cares? I love accessories and making a simple outfit a little more daring and hats are great for that. My skinnies and Tom's wedges make this look simple, monochromatic, and super comfy. Hope you like it!

Let it be...

While Penny and I take refuge in the basement due to a tornado warning, I decided what better to do than...blog! My nonchalant attitude can be attributed to the fact that the storm has almost passed. I was not all this chipper 30 minutes ago. I blame my brother for my torrential fear of tornadoes, but I suppose fear instills a quick to action mentality, so that's good.

Now, the reason you visited this blog (other than being my friend and/or family member indulging this endeavor, thanks) the outfit! Today I opted for a simple comfy look with this beyond adorable Beatles sweatshirt! This was one of those finds at Forever 21 where the heavens opened up and a hallelujah chorus rang in my ear! Alright, a little dramatic, but if you've ever shopped there you know this moment and it's what keeps you going back. It is when one incredible item reveals itself among the sea of discount clothing, as if it was just for you. Right size, right price, and it's all yours for the taking. Shopping rant thus ended. I paired this sweater with simple cotton pants and my favorite embellished loafers. Please bear with my hair, just not my day for the unruly mane.

Beatles Mania

I was feeling the Beatles printed tee this afternoon and what better to pair it with than some track pants! I love the Beatles, not in your typical I know three songs kind of way, but I was raised on their music and have since been obsessed!

I got the tee at Forever 21 and have paired it with jeans, skirts, even over a dress. I want more printed a lot more printed tees; they are so fun and can make a cute trendy statement.

The track pants were one of many purchases at Savvy in Nordstrom, while I worked there. I love these, but there are so many out there right now! They are super comfy and trendy, which is my favorite combination.
