Just call me Royalty

Alright, so I'm a few good deeds away from being knighted and I'm missing that Y chromosome, but I can be royalty with the fiercely royal blue sweater. See what I did there ;). I took these pics right after work, so you can get a taste of my professional style. I don't always do it up with fun pattern mixing and accessories. I'm a fan of the classics when it comes to work wear. I pair some great black slacks from the Limited and a cozy sweater. Granted, I do love to add a bit of style and detail and as many of you know that usually means I throw on a scarf. The blue in this floral print "goes" perfectly with this blue sweater and makes for a complete look!

What are your work wear staples?

Plaid + Shearling = Love

I am trying my best to embrace this ridiculous weather, so I must focus on the fun fashion pieces I can bring out only when it's frigid to your bones cold. My favorite item that is cold-centric is my Free People plaid and shearling coat. It's not an everyday coat, but it is so warm and a real statement piece!

In the winter it is so important to invest in not only quality coats, but stylish ones! This item will be encasing any cute item you wear and you can lose all your style in a frumpy coat. Might as well take this as an opportunity to add a little more fun and style to your look. We've got 6 months people!

Style runs in the workplace..

Style is the name of the game at my job. The salon is chock full of little fashionistas, so for today, a little spotlight on our manager Erika! She was rocking too cute of an outfit to not make an appearance on the blog. I'm obsessing over her vintage style coat for fall. She found this gem at Profyle Boutique in Indianapolis, by the new Ruth's Chris. One cannot only own a fabulous coat if not to pair it with an equally fabulous outfit.

The fall is all about the boots and booties. I like Erika's use of tights to tie a spring or summer piece into a fall look. Fashion and practicality can be each other's best friends (and sometimes enemies). What is your favorite way to make a seasonal item perfect for all year round?

Happy Fall y'all, it's getting cold out there.
