Chucks and Polka Dots

Sometimes a girl just needs to be comfy in her sneaks. I loved chuck taylors when I was little and not surprisingly I still love them! I graduated from my sharpie covered black high tops to a more grown up white low top pair, but the sentiment is still the same. I love this outfit because of how comfortable it is, yet on trend with the white sneakers and ankle jeans. The high pony with this adorable headband just added a little flair to keep it fun and not too neutral.

I got to lounge around with miss Penny, so she made quite the appearance in this photoshoot!  Let us know what you think in the comment section or follow us on one of our social media sites to stay in the loop!

Pennyians anyone?

Napolese me please!

I had the most incredible day yesterday with my mom for her birthday! We went out to lunch at Napolese for the first time and it was delicious. If you remember my rave review of Cafe Patachou, it's no surprise this is owned by same proprietor. You must like the charred brick oven flavor of pizza, which I do! We shared the roasted artichoke starter and the margherita pizza. You gotta go classic with a place like this. We decided to then shop around and found some goodies in our favorite Indy mall, the Fashion Mall. I should not have, but I indulged with a few purchases. I'm sure they'll grace the blog at some point, but I thought I'd stick to the food today.

We also decided to kill some time and went to the attached movie theatre that only plays indie films. It's my favorite theatre, because you can see more obscure (often more insightful) movies, the popcorn is unarguably the best, and they have a bar that you can bring alcohol into the movie. Buckets of Sunking anyone?

We saw "The Grand Budapest Hotel" by Wes Anderson. It was definitely in Wes Anderson's style, which I don't usually love, but it was wonderful! The plot in alignment with the star studded cast and the beautiful cinematography really created a well rounded film. I'd suggest it to anyone who's remotely interested in the trailer. The trailer gives you an idea of the style of movie, but it is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the poignancy and beauty of the film.

We rounded out the day with dinner with my dad and some margaritas! Yay! Such a good day to spend with the most incredible mom in the world.

Please mind Penny's yawning, she had a long day with her uncle pups! P.s. the scarf was one of my purchases!

Margherita pizza followed by Margaritas! Any better way to spend a day?

My last and most exciting puchase! I got them at C Wonder while they had a 25% off sale! Steal!

Blazy Day

I have a bit of a blazer obsession. This was exacerbated when I worked at Nordstrom, poor choice for my bank account and amazing for my closet! I fell in love with this blazer because of the fit, small shoulder pads, and amazing color. I subsequently bought the same blazer in white, green, and electric blue...see what I mean about obsession! Well, I hope you like this outfit and don't forget to follow us on one of our social media sites to always be updated on our new posts!

PINspired: Denim and Leather!

Another pinspired style post!

(It pains me to be compared to
Miranda Kerr, but c'est la vie)

What I loved about this outfit: The mix of denim, leather, and booties all still very neutral and can be worn out and about.

My take on the look:

I went a different route with the bowler hat!

Hudson Girl

Every girl needs that perfect pair of jeans in her closet! I totally splurged on these Hudson jeans, but they are those jeans that were made to cheer you up. Feeling fat? These jeans say, "Hell no! you're butt looks great". Feeling down? these jeans brighten your day. Alright, so maybe that's giving a pair of jeans a lot of credit, but it sure does pay off to invest in one good pair of jeans. What's your favorite brand?

I paired the look with the neutral black top and a pop of color with the headband and shoes. I love having neutrals for the base and pops of color!

Aww miss Penny! There's nothing like brightening an already amazing spring day than with this little baby's face.
